From my readers – thank you all!

Anne, I’m late to your wonderful novels. Dark Winds AMC was how I found your works. Love the show and enjoy your expansion of the Bernie character. –Jamie

I spent the entire day reading "Lost Birds," an absolutely enthralling addition to the Leaphorn/Chee/Manuelito series started so many years ago by Tony Hillerman. I could not put it down. – Patricia

I just finished The Way Of The Bear and was scanning the acknowledgement section (which I rarely do).  In the list of fallen officers I saw Andy Begay's name. Seeing his name in print shocked me.  I knew of his murder but his name in print sort of knocked me off kilter. When I was  still working LVMPD Narcotics I was running the Rifle competition for the Police Olympics.  Andy entered and won  several medals over the years. I liked him and was impressed by his shooting skills even though his rifle was not up to the quality of the other shooters weapons. I was saddened by his murder. Thank you for acknowledging those officers. I enjoyed reading all of Tony's books and yours as well. I wanted to say something about Andy. – Mike

Just finished The Way of the Bear, more like devoured it! It’s the first book I’ve read of yours and now I see I have a lot of catching up to do! This book was awesome,I loved learning how to say different things in the Navajo language . . . – Karen

What I'd like Anne to do is just keep on writing such wonderful books! The way of the Bear had me in tears. Gorgeous landscape, wonderful descriptions (I had never thought of fossil records as a library) and the characters we love. I hope there will be a little awee in Bernie's and Chee's future. – Astrid

Just finished reading "The Way of the Bear". Engaging, suspenseful, beautifully written – Fran

I love your books! I appreciate the strong and appealing women characters so much, and the family dynamics you explore so well. Sometimes the "high octane" plots almost get in the way of the smaller human elements and details I love, but of course I understand they need to be there LOL! –Nancy

I just finished Spiderwoman’s Daughter without having read any of Anne or her father’s other works. It left me in tears. As a wife of a law enforcement officer, and an attorney myself, it’s difficult to find material that accurately depicts those worlds AND somehow weaves optimism and hope into the narrative. – Carley

I just wanted to shout out to Anne Hillerman how thrilled I am to discover her work. I have been a longtime fan of Tony Hillerman's novels and lamented when I heard that he passed away. Thank you for keeping the stories alive. – Karl

It took me long enough to get to you, and then you shoot Leaphorn in the head by page three! Good grief, lady! Stepped right into your dad's shoes with a hot start to a great story. I inherited my mom's Hillerman collection when she died in '99, and added to it every time he wrote a new one. You could tell he was an old-fashioned news writer because of his crisp style. You've stepped into the shoes with that, as well, thank you very much. I'm so glad you're on this, Ms. Hillerman. – Maggie

I just finished reading your first novel, Spider Woman's Daughter, and found it to continue to follow in the footsteps of your father, Tony. I have all of his novels and have read each twice and I enjoyed them immensely! I have recently purchased the first eight novels you have written and can tell you unequivocally I'm genuinely satisfied with the first one and expect nothing but the best with those that follow. Thank you for picking up where your father left off!  I'm looking forward to reading all of your future novels as they become available. – Leonard

I personally attended an event Anne spoke at for the book she collaborated on with her husband called "Tony Hillerman's Landscape" years ago in Park City. I am a fan of the series and love that Anne has given Bernie Manuelito more of a role in the books she writes. Thanks! – Claire

I finished reading "Lost Birds." I thoroughly enjoyed every page. One reason I enjoy your books is because I learn so much about the Navajo Indians I didn't learn when I lived in Tucson. I never knew about the Lost Birds. It is good to know that isn't the case now. Your characters come alive for me as I read your books. I forget about my problems and live among the Navajo. Keep writing! – J Luke
